Verizon Wireless Eliminates 1-year Contracts

Verizon wireless customers interested in signing a one-year contract with company have until the end of the week to do so. On April 17, the one-year contract will be eliminated from the company’s list of options.

According to Verizon, the one-year option is being eradicated because the majority of their customers opt to sign the two-year agreement.

Those customers on a one-year contract before Sunday’s deadline will be grandfathered in.

Rest assured, the month-to-month plan will remain available to those customers who want no contract. In fact, Verizon may beef up the month-to-month plan by offering unlimited talk and text for only $50.

Currently, Verizon is the number one wireless carrier in the United States.

The pending AT&T/T-Mobile USA merger may be the cause for Verizon’s sudden policy changes. Once the merger is approved, Verizon will find itself second to AT&T by around 27 million customers.

Verizon is simply planning ahead and trying to hold to as many customers as they can for as long as possible.

Hold on to as many customers as they can? More like lose as many customers as they can! I can’t go 20 months with the same phone with the technology nowadays. This is BS. Once this one year with the Tbolt is over, I’m going ATT to the newest Iphone..
