Kingston, Ontario, Canada (NEWSTABULOUS) – Have you ever wished that you had a phone that could live through all these times where you’ve tossed your phone across the room in rage, or just accidentally dropped it on the ground and cracked the screen?
It’s made out of a translucent electronic paper with a screen that works similar to a Kindle, allowing you to flex it how ever you wish.
A call can be placed by bending it or flexing it by it’s corners. It will perform everything a smart phone would such as making phone calls, display e-books, text messaging and play music.
Thanks to researchers from Queen’s University in Canada and Arizona State University as well, this will be the first prototype Paper Phone in the world to hit the shelves with a display made out of 3.75-inch thin-film.
It is expected that within 10 years that all phones will function the same way and look like this according to Professor Roel Vertegaal, the director of Queen’s University’s Human Media Lab.
He will be debuting the first interactive paper phone that works just the same as an iPhone, at a conference next week at the Association of Computing Machinery’s CHI in Vancouver.
This could potentially be the future for chunky laptops and computers, resulting in super-thin and flexible computers that resemble paper.
Question:
- What are your thoughts?
- Do you believe that this is going to be the future?

This is amazing, I have seen other things like this before like magazines and newspapers. The only problem I can see is that i’ll lose it or damage it. How are you going to plug earphones into this and charge it? Fascinating….
