Not even two days after Thursday’s shocking elimination on American Idol, Pia Toscano has been signed to Interscope Records by Jimmy Lovine.
By capitalizing on her rise to fame, they are jump-starting her solo career and bringing the best songwriters and producers together to rush her first album for a summer release.
Idol Judges were visibly horrified by the voting results, but were concerned about the lack of energy in her performances over the past weeks as she sang ballad after ballad, while other contestants interacted more with the audience and used the entire stage in their performance.
Pia Toscano has been considered the best singer in the competition and was shocked to be in the bottom three. Instantly heartbroken by the final results, she actually had to receive medical attention for a panic attack immediately following the show.
Many American Idol voters are young females and often vote for their favourite male heart-throbs to win over the beautiful female contestants that they could have envious feelings over. Pia’s exit may have been the most shocking exit of Idol history, but it’s not the end of the road – only the beginning of her journey, she explains, “It was my time to go.”

Pia’s shock elimination this season show exactly why internet voting should not be allowed. I run a website myself along with 2 forums and every time I create they are rigged by people using multiple profiles or proxies to vote for their favourites.
Hi, I live in South Africa and have watched American Idols from first season! I can’t belive America would vote off Pia!!she has been amazing from day one. Well done to however signs her up! She really was brillant and every person in S.A is behind her!!
The elimination of Pia Toscano from American Idol comes as a huge shock to many fans of the series around the world. Yes “America Has Voted” and before the judges throw up their hands in shock at the public’s poor choice, they need to remember how their ‘judgements’ influence the voting public.
Pia with her angelic voice, sultry looks and total package appeal, was the only contestant on the night to be criticised more than complimented by the judges.
With such a large percentage of the voting public being barely out of nappies and so easily swayed by their celebrity idol’s (the judges) opinions, there’s little wonder that Pia didn’t receive the kind of voting support she deserved.
Nonetheless, Pia has captured the hearts of millions around the world who will support her music career. I hope she read her Interscope contract carefully before signing on the dotted line. Hopefully Interscope is as committed to doing justice to this Diva’s talent as Pia’s millions of fans are eager to hear more of her.
